Obituary of Joanie Lucille Hohnstein
Joanie L Hohnstein, 76, of Windsor, passed peacefully with her Family by her side on September 21, 2022, in Loveland. She was born on August 8, 1946, in Denver, Colorado to Harold “Bud” Warr and Lucille A (Belthem) Warr. She married Donald L Hohnstein on January 13, 1965, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley.
She attended high school in Greeley and graduated from the first class of Greeley West in 1966.
Joanie spent her life devoted to raising her four children, Tammy, Todd, Gina and Christopher and two of her grandsons, Anthony and Nathan Patty while also spending time with her 10 other grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren. She worked at Albertson’s and Walmart but her most fulfilling job was that of a CNA at various nursing homes and the private in-home care of her dear friend Jenny.
She was a member of the Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Greeley and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Joanie enjoyed volunteering in the church store and in the various elementary schools of her children and grandchildren. She loved regularly watching her Broncos in her spare time while enjoying cooking for her family, baking, and gardening. She was an avid dog lover to her dear Daisy, Kesia and Diesel.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Windsor; her daughters, Tammy (Jim) Gray of Greeley and Gina Jones of Severance; and her sons Todd (Holly) Hohnstein, of Greeley and Christopher Hohnstein of Johnstown; and brothers, Ed Warr (Karen) of Greeley and Richard (Dana)Warr of Lakewood; and a sister Michele (Ron) Geisick of Wiggins. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joanie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Vincent Warr.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022 from 5:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00a.m. Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
