Obituary of Robert August Brendecke

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Brendecke. Bob of Greeley, Colorado peacefully passed away at the age of 90, on March 31, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 21, 1933 to Walter H.A and Margaret (Kleinhans) Brendecke. He was one of four boys, there was never a dull moment in his house, always having someone to play with or spending some time swimming in lake Michigan. After graduating high school Bob joined the Airforce and proudly served our country for four years. That same year, Bob married Dorothy (Amborski) Brendecke and together started a family, having four children of their own. Bob and Dorothy spent most of their life in Greeley, CO, where he worked as a ramp service agent for United Airlines for 30 plus years before retiring and dedicating his life to his wife and family.

Bob was well known for his interesting humor, he never failed to make someone smile. He had a deep appreciation for classical music, hiking, swimming, especially on the beaches of Hawaii where he often loved to visit. You could always find him taking pictures or in his garden growing some vegetables.

He is survived by his brother Kenneth Brendecke, his son Scott (Patti) Brendecke, son Michael (Amy) Brendecke, daughter Lisa (Greg) Martinez, and three grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, son, Bobby Brendecke, his parents, and two of his brothers.
