Beatrice Castilleja

Obituary of Beatrice Marie Castilleja

Beatrice Marie Castilleja, 59, of Greeley, was called home Friday, April 28, 2023 at North Colorado Medical Center. She was born on February 28, 1964 in Greeley to Barbara Lagunas. Beatrice grew up in Greeley and graduated from Greeley West High School in 1982. She went on to study cosmetology at Highland Hills Beauty Academy from 1986-1988. After gaining her license she worked as a hairdresser in different salons in the area for many years. She spent a few years as a customer service representative in a few different contact centers, but her greatest passion was caring for others.  Beatrice understood the importance of compassion, patience, and attention to detail.  This led her to be an in-home caretaker.  Among those she cared for were her great-grandmother, mother, aunt, uncle, and a friend of the family.

Beatrice married Ronnie Lopez on February 24, 1982. They had a daughter, Dwan and a son, Ronnie Jr.  They later divorced in 1995.  Beatrice loved to do crafts, walk her dog, and watch old movies and tv shows.  Among her favorites were “An affair to remember” and “Little House on the Prairie.”  Above all though, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. They were the center of her world and being a funny cool grandma, she was the center of theirs.  She loved making their birthdays and holidays special.  Christmas was her favorite.  If you ever visited her home between Thanksgiving and New Years she had her own little decorated winter wonderland and she was known for her home-made fudge.

She is survived by her children, Dwan Allord, her husband Jarrod of Tucson, Arizona and Ronnie Lopez Jr. of Greeley;

her grandchildren, Alexis Marquart Allord of Tucson, Avery Wagner and his wife Sara of Hawaii, Gilberto Allord of Tucson, Bryan Doucette of Tucson, and Alexandria Rose Ybarra of Greeley; her great-grandchildren,Maya Groves and Vincent Wagner; her sister, Irene Chaparro her husband Jose of Farwell, Texas; and her God Daughter, Deshawnda Chaparro of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and her beloved lab, Lacy. She was preceded in death by her great-grandma, Mary Lagunas, her mother, Barbara Lagunas; a nephew, Nayd Chaparro; and two God Children, Mikey Cardenas and Patricia Martinez.
