Obituary of Helen Mary Ochoa

Mary Helen Ochoa, better known as Helen to her friends and family, passed away May 17^th, 2023.

Helen is survived by her husband Joe, her children Anthony and Willie Lopez, Brenda Garduno and Sandra Garcia, a sister Mary Lou Villa and a brother John Romero along with 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 3 grand kitties and 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Joe Romero, a sister Jane Martinez and her daughter Tammy Beck.

Helen was born in La Salle on March 12, 1940, to Mary and Pablo Romero. Helen went on to start her own family but along the way she also pursued a career in nursing and graduated with her nursing degree in 1975. She worked as a nurse for the next 30 years.

Helen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, wife, aunt, friend. She was a devout Catholic who attended Mass every week at St. Peter’s church and she shared that influence with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

A viewing will be held Thursday June 1^st at Adamson Funeral home in Greeley, from 4-6pm, with a rosary from 6-7pm. Funeral services will be held June 2^nd at St. Peter’s Catholic church in Greeley at 9:30 am, with reception to follow.
