Obituary of Eleazar M. Bermea

Eleazar M. Bermea, 88, of Gilcrest, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at his home.  He was born on October 27, 1934 in Menard, Texas to Ezequiel and Jesusita (Morales) Bermea.  Eleazar grew up in Menard, Texas and met his future wife while working in Gilcrest, Colorado. On November 5, 1956 he married Jennie Chacon and moved to Gilcrest, Colorado in 1959.  He worked as a truck driver for 38 years with Thomasson Concrete.  After he retired he worked part-time with Golden Construction.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Eleazar was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan.  He loved to laugh, watch Western movies, camping and fishing, tying flies, woodworking and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie of Gilcrest; his children, Michael Bermea of Lubbock, Texas, David Bermea of Loveland, Colorado, Hector Bermea of Gilcrest, Cynthia Hochmiller and husband John of LaSalle, CO, Anna Bermea of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Kathleen Sullivan and fiancé Steve Connell of Broomfield; his sisters, Rebecca Constancio of Friona, Texas; Aurora Ramon of Coleman, Texas; sister-in-law Dolores Bermea of Brownfield, Texas; and 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6:30p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Adamson Life Celebration Home.  Mass of Christian Burial 9:30a.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Inurnment Linn Grove Cemetery.  A reception will be held at Mosaic Church, 3451 23^rd Ave., Evans, from 12:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on June 8, 2023.  Contributions may be made to Dignity Hospice in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 W. 47th Ave., Greeley, CO  80634.  Condolences may be sent to the family at AdamsonCares.com.
