Obituary of Bill Dumler
Billie Lee “Bill” Dumler, 86, of Greeley passed away June 27, 2023 at Garden Square Memory Care in Greeley. He was born February 11, 1937 in Ault, Colorado to August and Ruth (Bernhart) Dumler. Bill grew up in the Ault and Greeley areas and graduated from College High in 1955. While in high school he played basketball and baseball.
Bill owned his own auto repair business and was the first in the area to convert vehicles to run on natural gas. He and his son, Rick, converted vehicles in Washington state in the early 1980’s. He was also a farmer most of his adult life.
On February 16, 1957, he married the love of his life, Eileen Alles and they enjoyed 66 years of marriage together.
Bill was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley. He served on the Weld County Fair Board for 12 years. He was a fun person to be around and liked to make people laugh, especially his kids and grandkids. He loved to watch their sporting events and go on vacation, especially to Mexico.
Bill is survived by his wife, Eileen of Greeley, his sisters; JoAnn (Carl) Hill, Dianna Sothman (Steve Hart), his children; Ricky (Judy) Dumler and Kim McMurren, grandchildren; Cristin (Jon) Green, Kelsey (Brett) Hemenover, Bailey (Derrick) Salazar and Billie Jo McMurren, great-grandchildren; Owen and Avenn Green, Karsyn and Harper Hemenover, Zariah, Xander, Zoey and Zaylee Salazar, and Mirac McMurren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Lucille Hardy and special friends, Cindy Dressor and Doug McMurren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and in-laws, George and Eva Alles.
Bill’s Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. Paul’s Congregational Church with a reception to follow. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
