Obituary of Jesusita Sanchez

Jesusita “Susie” Sanchez, 81, of Greeley Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on July 4, 2023.

Susie was born in Villanueva New Mexico on November 8, 1941, to Cleofas “Cleo” Urioste and Antonio “Tony” Flores. When she was young, the family moved to Pueblo Colorado where Susie eventually met the love of her life Edward at Xavier Church in Pueblo. On October 25, 1958, Edward and Susie were married at the church where they had met.

In 1960, Eddie and Susie moved from Pueblo to Greeley where they raised their four beautiful children and ran a cleaning service before retiring.

In January of 2021, Eddie passed, and Susie remained at home where her children took care of her.

Susie was a devout Catholic, and she loved to spend her time with her Grandchildren and 13 Great-Grandchildren whom she loved to no end. She liked to go camping and fishing, and she was a great cook and baker. Everyone in her family enjoyed her heart shaped oatmeal cookies with pink frosting she made for Valentine's Day so much that they had to be rationed out so everyone could get some!

Susie is survived by her daughters Linda Archuleta, Sally Jojola, Frances Sanchez, her son Joseph Sanchez, her many grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Lucy Chagolla, Rose Tellez, Anthony Flores, Eugenia Rodriguez and her best friend Viola Mondragon.

She is preceded in death by her husband Edward “Eddie” Sanchez, sisters Virginia Paz and Josie Baca, Amanda Flores, Joseph Flores, and Vidal Flores.

Susie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A Rosary followed by Funeral Mass will be at 9:00am at St. Peters Catholic Church in Greeley CO on Thursday July 13^th, 2023, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall.
