Obituary of Patrick Eric McIntyre

Patrick Eric McIntyre, 70, of Greeley, CO passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at UC Health in Greeley.  He was born March 18, 1953 in Craig, Colorado to James Edward and Edna Mae (Vaughan) McIntyre.  Patrick grew up in Dolores Colorado, an inquisitive and rambunctious middle child with 3 brothers, there was always something happening in their house. Patrick was a known tinkerer, always taking apart radios and inventing things.

Patrick graduated from Moffat County High School and went to serve in the US Navy where he was stationed in Guantanamo Bay Cuba.  Patrick worked as a Maintenance Supervisor at the Greeley Country Club, where he could utilize his love for solving problems and fixing things, before retiring in 2014.

In 1999, he married the love of his life, Kathryn Lamica, making their home in Greeley.  Deeply in love and inseparable, they would actively seek out adventures and looked forward to a long and happy life together.  Over the years they enjoyed traveling to visit friends and family in Kathy’s hometown and other Midwest locations.

Patrick loved Colorado.  He was a full-time adventure seeker who enjoyed being in the outdoors, the mountains, biking, and camping.  He spent countless weekends with his brother Gary, camping, hiking, biking and exploring new trails, and fishing in local rivers and lakes.

Patrick leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were always entertained by his stories and hilarious sense of humor. He truly brought the life to the party.

Despite his long illness, Patrick's positive outlook and love of life inspired those around him.  He carried himself with dignity, courage, and humor.  He will be missed dearly.

Patrick is survived by his wife Kathy McIntyre of Greeley; his daughter Nova McIntyre (Todd Brady) of Oregon; grandchildren, Kymyawna and Jadeyn Barrientes; and forever remembered by his siblings, Michael McIntyre (Jud) of Craig and Gary McIntyre (Sue) of Castle Rock.  He was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan McIntyre (Betty).  A private gathering will be held in his honor.
