Obituary of Dan Charles Parker

Dan Charles Parker passed away Friday, July 21^st, 2023, at Westlake Lodge Health and Rehab, in Greeley CO, at the age of 76, after spending many years battling multiple sclerosis (MS).  He was born on December 26, 1946, in Milliken, CO, to Elizabeth and Robert Parker. He was the third and youngest child, behind siblings Claudia and Bobby. He attended schools in Greeley and Evans, graduating from Evans High School in 1964.   After graduation, he worked various jobs in the Greeley area and met Angie (Agnes) Thompson in December 1965.  Dan and Angie were married June 15, 1969, at Walks Camp Lutheran church 20 miles from Genoa, CO. They settled In Evans where they welcomed 2 children, Jason Charles in 1978, and Amanda Dawn in 1983. On June 15^th this year, the couple celebrated 54 years of marriage.

He was a hardworking man building mobile homes in the late 1960’s until the factory closed here in Greeley. He transitioned to the School District 6, first in cabinetry, then grounds, ending in food delivery. He was there for 17 years until MS diagnosis forced retirement.  

Dan was proud of his home, his children and grandchildren, and love of animals. His pup Soda gave him many laughs and was a joy for him to watch. He enjoyed playing guitar, camping with family and friends in his early years, playing solitaire and other card games, watching old western TV shows, and sitting by the fire.

He was preceded in death by his mother Betty, father Bob, sister Claudia, brother Bob, and 3 nieces. He is survived by his wife Angie, son Jason, daughter-in-law Sarah and son William of Spring, TX, daughter Mandi, son-in law Jeb and their two daughters Hayden and Harper of Nampa, ID, Aunt Gay Gonsior, nephew RJ Parker, brother and sister in-laws Marj and Raymond Thompson, Mary Thompson, Raylene Thompson, and several nieces and nephews. 

A Life Celebration will be Friday, July 28, 2023, 2 p.m. at Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Ave, Greeley, CO 80634 with reception to immediately follow.
