Obituary of Kristol Annette Ortega

Kristol Annette Ortega peacefully entered the gates of heaven on August 9, 2023.  She was born April 21, 1985 to Cindy Sena and Steve Ortega.

Kristol graduated from Raton High School in 2003. She then attended Trinidad State Junior College and graduated with a degree in cosmetology in 2005, and has enjoyed her craft ever since.  Kristol took pride in making her clients, friends, and family look beautiful and handsome. She loved making everyone feel good about themselves.

Kristol, her mom, sisters and children have lived in Platteville, CO since 2008 where she most recently owned and operated her salon, Kutoure on Main Street. Some of her favorite things to do included spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, friends, and clients. She loved dancing, singing and laughing with her beautiful smile. She was always helping those in need, whether with a kind word or the shirt off her back. Anyone who knows her, knows her greatest accomplishments were her children; Matea, Kyrah (Adam), and Dominick, and grandchildren Mathias and Ariani. They were the light of her life and the butterflies of her world!

Kristol was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Toby and Rose Marie Sena, Paternal grandparents Steve Sr. and Delia Ortega, along with her Aunt Karla Audrey Sena.

Kristol is survived by her beloved daughters; Matea Aguirre and Kyrah Aguirre (Adam), her son, Dominick Martinez, grandchildren; Mathias and Ariani Marquez, her mother Cindy Sena of Greeley, CO, brother, Christian Ortega (Jessica) of Raton, NM, sisters, Karla Molina (Steven) and Kayla Avila (Jose) and nieces and nephews Andre of Raton, NM, Michael, Orlando, Rose, Angelo, and Renee, of Greeley, CO, her father Steve Ortega Jr. (Tricia) and sister Natasha Ortega, all of Raton, NM as well as her significant other Oscar Rios of Thornton, CO, her Aunts Lindy Sena and Judy Sena, and cousins and family all of Raton, NM.  She is also survived by numerous Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, family and friends. 

A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Adamson.  Recitation of the Rosary 10 a.m. Monday, August 28 followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Platteville.  Interment Mizpah Cemetery, Platteville.  A reception will follow at the church Parish Hall.  Condolences may be shared at AdamsonCares.com.
