Obituary of Kay M Burron
After a lifetime of walking closely with her trusted Best Friend, Kay Burron finally met her Savior, Jesus, in person, on September 14, 2023. Her husband of 60 years, Arni, was by her side.
Kay was born in Huntington, Indiana on April 26, 1936. She graduated from Concordia University in River Forest, Illinois, where she and Arni first met. She spoke fondly of her first position teaching fourth grade in New York, and her early experiences were just the start of a life-long love of children.
She returned to the Midwest and married Arni on December 29, 1962. They moved to Minnesota where their first two children, Charah and Keith, were born. In 1969 they moved to Greeley, where their third child, Cathy, was born.
Kay was a fantastic homemaker and support system for Arni and her children, and when the kids were grown, she enjoyed traveling with Arni and supporting him at various conferences where he spoke or taught. She also taught preschool and later earned her real estate license and excelled in her real estate career.
Her commitment to Jesus was primary in her life, and she and Arni wanted to provide every opportunity for people to get to know Him better. They spent forty years hosting home Bible studies, and they spent the last 22 years providing a weekly Bible study for the residents of the Bridge in Greeley.
Kay was an amazing grandmother to her 15 grandchildren. Her relationship with each one was unique, and she made her home a place where every one of them felt special, welcomed, and treasured.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Marie Guhl, brother, Mark Guhl, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Arni; sister, Jane Doehrmann; sister-in-law, Dona Burron; and children and grandchildren: daughter, Charah (Steve) Melchior and grandchildren Jillian Melchior (Taylor Collins), Ian, Nathan, Matthew (fiancé, Lindsay Raponi), Luke, Ross, Grant, Lauren, Claire, and Sam; son, Keith (Alice) Burron and grandchildren Erin (Isaac) Tarectecan, Ray (Sidney), Sam (Jessica), and Ben; and daughter Cathy (Jim) Cowles and grandson, Jonathan. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on September 30, 2023, at 2:30PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greeley, CO. No flowers or donations or other tangible expressions of friendship are necessary.
