Obituary of Larry Stevens
Charles Larry Stevens, 80, of Greeley passed away October 6,2023. He was born March 2, 1943, in Platteville to Charles “Ed” and Bessie (Crowl) Stevens.
Larry served in the Air National Guards for 6 years during the Vietnam War time. He managed the La Salle Pickle Dock and was a field man for 30 years, he was commonly known by many as the Pickle Man. He also worked at the Western Sugar Factory during the winter. When the pickle dock was shut down, he and his partner Nancy Green were over the road semi-truck drivers for H & H Williams, and Western Trucking for 25 years. When he retired, he loved to visit with his friends at the coffee shop and on his daily walks at local stores. He enjoyed spending time with his children and his grandchildren. He also loved to go gambling and especially playing slot machines.
Larry is survived by his children and their spouses Bill and Kris Ann Stevens of La Salle, Michael Stevens of Arizona, daughter Kathy and Brian Horning of La Salle, Robert and Kayla Stevens of Ault, Granddaughters Mary Kate Stevens, Erica Horning, Laura Stevens, and Grandsons Cullen Stevens, Logan Stevens, Luke Horning, Max Stevens, and Alex Stevens. He is also survived by his sister Betty Manweiler, and brother Jack Stevens.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sons Rodney Stevens and Brad Stevens, brothers, Eddie, Gary, and Terry Stevens, sisters Barb May, Elaine Bell, and Pasty Bernal, and his partner Nancy Green.
A Life Celebration will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 16, 2023 at Adamson Life Celebration Home. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens.
